This modern take on the Greek classic surrounds the world of a modern political exigency, where a mix of oppression, victimhood and the public eye leads to the inevitable death of Iphigenia - set in the present in an unnamed Latin American country.

The setting inspired by contemporary concert and latin club design used to emphasize the themes of modern media, societal expectations, and fame - amplifying intense scenes with layered projection and set electrics to match the momentum of this brutal, unforgiving story.

ONCE ON THIS ISLAND

Once on this Island is the reciting of a story to a little girl about a young woman named Ti Moune who faces the odds of falling in love with a rich boy named Daniel, in a world where the people are separated by both class and color

Research surrounded the religion of Haitian Vodou - fascinated by its history, practices and cultural influence. The portal of the design incorporates Vodou masks and symbols - becoming visual representations of the four gods in the story, always watching over our main character as the events play out.

HAMLET - FOUND SPACE

Location: Abandoned Laundromat - Gary Indiana

This take on Shakespeare's Hamelt sets our characters in a ghost story of a forgotten kingdom - the money laundering facade of a families drug empire, that crumbles under the chaos of rivaling greed, spiraling the family down until all thats left is a husk of what once was.

Setting the story in a laundromat creates a dynamic space where we watch the cycle of greed, lust, and revenge - allowing the action to occur in a maze like pattern, letting our audience follow and see the innerWorkings of the facade, getting immersed in the spiral themselves.

This interpretation of Tennessee Williams' play examines the traumatic death of Sebastian, through the lens of Violet’s mind - A world where the family mausoleum is falling apart, as Violet struggles to keep her family and mind intact.

ROMEO & JULIET

Feuding families, Plundering scoundrels, and 17th century Port Royal - This take on Shakespeare’s classic tragety puts the rival families in the world where glittering wealth was constantly targeted from buccaneers and raiders.

The deconstructed Carribian architecture being overtaken by the topical elements creates the tension and hatred between the two groups - giving the ability to represent multiple locations at once.

LONG DAYS JOURNEY INTO NIGHT

This interpretation of Eugene O'Neill's classic play examines the Tyrone family through the lens of Mary's mind - A world that explores the concept of liminal spaces - places between destinations that aren't meant to be existed in as much as passed through - distorting the memories it was created to preserve.

CHARLIE’S AUNT - ACT 1

This interpretation of Brandon Thomas’s play follows Fancourt Babberley, an undergraduate whose friends Jack and Charley persuade him to impersonate the latter's aunt, which leads to quite a complicated situation - This particular design takes place in a contemporary downtown Tokyo apartment, expanding the world with aging and color.

THE REVOLUTIONISTS

This grand and dream-tweaked comedy by Lauren Gunderson explores violence and legacy, art and activism, feminism and terrorism, and how we actually go about changing the world - We find our characters staged in a world of french elements as a massive blade slowly encroaches on the woman, till each of their heads roll.

AIRLINE HIGHWAY

Lisa D'Amour’s American play is a celebration of the character Miss Ruby - A mother figure for dozens of lost souls in the City That Care Forgot. Now nearing the end of her life, The Hummingbird Motel residents plan to host a New Orleans-style living funeral in her honor.

We find our characters set in the parking lot of a deteriorating mid-century modern motel, which explores the architectural motif of breeze blocks.
